Studio Mission
Sunshine Studios was designed as a shared, inclusive space. As a program of Sunshine Communities, its primary mission is to provide meaningful supported employment for individuals with developmental disabilities. Sunshine envisioned more than just a workplace—it aimed to create a community resource for people of all abilities, offering classes, events, and open studio time to connect through creativity.

Studio Use Acknowledgment
As an open studio member or participant in classes or workshops at Sunshine Studios, I acknowledge the following:

  • I have read and understand the studio guidelines and agree to follow all safety protocols, procedures, and instructions.
  • I understand that activities involving clay, tools, kiln use, and other studio equipment carry inherent risks of injury, even when all safety precautions are followed.
  • I understand that damage or breakage of ceramic pieces can occur despite proper handling and firing procedures, and I accept this risk as part of studio participation.

Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk
I hereby release, waive, and hold harmless Sunshine Studios, Sunshine Inc. Residential and Support Services, and their officers, directors, employees, agents, volunteers, and affiliates from any and all liability, claims, demands, causes of action, or damages arising from my participation in any studio activities.

This release includes, but is not limited to, injury, loss, property damage, or illness resulting from my use of the studio, tools, equipment, or materials, whether caused by negligence or otherwise. This waiver also applies to my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns.

I understand that this release is binding, and that participation is entirely voluntary and at my own risk.

If the participant is a minor or under the care of an agency:

  • Parents or legal guardians must sign this form to provide consent for participation.
  • Parents are responsible for supervising their children while in the studio.
  • Agencies are responsible for supervising all individuals they bring and agree that their organization’s insurance will cover any incidents or injuries that may occur while using Sunshine facilities.
  • Please let us know if the participant is part of an agency or is a minor under supervision.
